TOWER HEALTH BEHAVIORAL FACILITY

ENHANCING BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES IS CRITICAL TO THE HEALTH OF BERKS COUNTY.

Tower Health and Acadia Healthcare have formed a joint venture to bring comprehensive mental healthcare to the region. Together, we are constructing a new behavioral healthcare facility expected to open in 2019. The facility will include a 144-bed inpatient hospital with adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatric care, as well as a full slate of outpatient services.

COMMUNITY NEED

The 2016 Berks County Community Health Needs Assessment identified a significant need for behavioral healthcare and chemical dependency treatment services in the Berks County region. The study revealed that one in five residents were diagnosed with either an anxiety or depressive disorder, and two in five had activity limitations due to poor physical or mental health.

TREATABLE ILLNESS

As Tower Health and Acadia Healthcare work to enhance access to behavioral health services, we also strive to help people understand that mental health conditions are treatable — they are no different than illnesses such as cancer or diabetes.
